I have many roles on the animated web show "Its-A-Wrap" all of which revolve around the title Art Director. It wasn't' a role that I claimed or was put in, it just happened very naturally. In the first episode I asked Show-runner, writer, director, and overall BAMF Christopher Perkins if I could help him out on his next project, he asked me to do some backgrounds to his next cartoon. I actually had no clue what the project was til after doing the work.
After the first episode had a very successful 200,000 views within 49 hours, Perkins was already conceptualizing ideas for future installments. It was very fun in the skype conference with the original three people who worked on the first one; Myself (Backgrounds, Furniture, Props design), Zee (Music and Audio), and Perkins (Everything). Tossing ideas and such, and lots of laughs.

In the Skype conference I mentioned I would like to add to the character designs. The tricky part was editing them to look better but making it almost unnoticeable. I decided the best way to do so is to just leave the line work the same and edit only the highlights and shading. I did tweak some of the line art on the hair and on white pieces to give them a cool look.

Perkins creates all the characters and I revamp them, like Lil Wayne above. Though I do help out and sketch some of the characters faces for him from time to time. The reason Perkins continues to make the flash models is he has a base he likes to follow.
Now, I've also added a night time pallet swap of the characters depending on if they appear in a scene at night.;

Alright this post is getting a bit too lengthy for my taste.... I'll talk about how the backgrounds are done in part 2.
